Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Heat the oil in a large deep sided skillet over medium-high heat until it smokes. You want it very hot so it sears the meat quickly and not over cook it. Add the beef, in batches of necessary, and brown, stirring quickly. Remove and place in a bowl.

Add a little more oil along with the onions and mushrooms and fry until soft, about 5 to 8 minuntes. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Remove the vegetables and place in the bowl with the steak.

Heat the butter in the pan until foaming and then stir in the flour and allow it to cook for a minute or two. Pour in the beef stock gradually, stirring constantly to make a smooth sauce. Add the cream, pepper, paprika, and mustard and stir to combine. Add the steak and vegetables back into the pan and allow to cook for another 5 minutes

To Build: in a greased 13x9 glass baking dish, spread a layer of the stroganoff mixture and top with mozzarella cheese and lasagna noodles. Repeat up to the top of the dish, finish with a layer of pasta and cheese. Bake for 45 minutes until bubbly.

Remove from oven and let stand for 15 to 20 minutes before cutting and serving.
