Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl cream together the butter and the 2 sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and then the vanilla.

Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually stir this into the butter mixture Finally stir in the oats and cranberries.

Drop rounded spoonfuls onto a parchment lined pan or a silicone mat.

Bake to 8 to 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 15 minutes, then move to a cooling rack to cool completely.
