Mongolian Beef & Shrimp

  • 1 In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and chicken broth and set aside
  • 2 In another bowl, season the shrimp with salt and pepper and mix in 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch until well coated. Do the same in another bowl with the steak strips.
  • 3 In a large skillet over medium high heat, heat 1 tbsp. oil and cook the shrimp until golden brown and slightly crispy, about 3 minutes each side. Trasnfer to a plate and keep warm. Next do the same with the steak strips, add to the plate with the shrimp.
  • 4 Add remaining 1 tbsp. oil to the skillet and swirl to coat. Add the broccoli, bell pepper, and onions and cook until tender, about 4 minutes. Add the shrimp and steak along with the sauce to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly to assure evenything is coated with the sauce.
  • 5 Serve on a bed of hot jasmine rice garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
